How to Keep a Safe Roof This Holiday Season
December 23, 2022
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from BB Roofing!
This holiday season make sure your roof stays in good shape for St Nick’s visits.
- Hire an expert roofing contractor to inspect the roof thoroughly. A roofing inspector will inspect every inch of your roof from top to bottom, around chimneys and sky lights and in and around the gutters. Experts recommend an inspection twice a year.
- You’ll want to make sure the chimney is good and clean before St Nick comes down the chimney. You wouldn’t want his suit to get dirty. The seal between your roof and chimney can erode over time and should be inspected closely.
- Make sure all the trees are trimmed around the house. This will allow for plenty of roof for St Nick and his reindeer to land. Plus, branches can become heavy with snow and ice and fall on your roof causing damage.
- If you add lights or decorations to your roof, granules can loosen and fall in your gutter. If this happens too many times, your shingles can become bald and need to be replaced. Also, be sure holiday decorations aren’t excessively heavy for your roof as they can crack and become damage allowing moisture to seep through.
Following these few steps will help ensure that your roof stays healthy and secure this holiday season and stays healthy in preparation for St. Nick’s visit.
